Valbruna by Simone Gaudenzi – Smooth Brown 2 Jellyfish

This handcrafted Italian Valbruna pipe was made in Gabicce Mare by Simone Gaudenzi. The pipe belongs to the Smooth Brown 2 Jellyfish classification and features a freehand shape with medium-large proportions.

The most distinctive characteristic of its design is the sit-up configuration: the pipe stands on its own base, where the artisan chose to leave the natural Top Bark plateau visible. This detail is not merely aesthetic, but forms an integral part of the shape, emphasizing the handcrafted, unique nature of the piece.

The body displays clean briar finished in smooth brown, highlighting the quality and grain of the wood. The generous chamber is conical-drilled, a configuration that complements the pipe's medium-large size.

The black acrylic stem is clean and well-proportioned, featuring a subtle fishtail bit and inset with a stylized silver jellyfish on top.

Its self-standing structure makes this Valbruna exceptionally practical for desk use, allowing it to rest securely without needing an external pipe stand.

Overall, it represents a fine example of Italian artisan pipemaking by Valbruna, combining natural elements and refined details: smooth brown briar, natural Top Bark plateau, black acrylic stem, and a stylized silver jellyfish inset.
