Valbruna Pipe is the personal brand of Italian pipemaker Simone Gaudenzi, an artisan trained in the Pesaro school tradition and active for over twenty years in the crafting of high-end pipes.
His journey began in 1998 at Ser Jacopo, under the guidance of Giancarlo Guidi, one of the leading figures in modern Italian pipe making. In this environment, Gaudenzi developed the sense of line, balance, and precision that still define his work today, refining a distinctive and coherent aesthetic sensibility.
He lives and works in Gabicce Mare, overlooking the sea, with which he maintains a deep and daily connection. This relationship with the Adriatic is not only personal, but also becomes an integral part of his creative vision.
After many years of experience in the production of high-quality pipes, Valbruna was born—a personal project based on limited production, rigorous material selection, and meticulous direct control over every stage of the process, from raw block to finished piece.
Each pipe is crafted from carefully aged and selected briar. The shapes are clean, the proportions natural, and the finishes precise. The stylistic language is contemporary, balancing innovation with Italian tradition, where functionality and aesthetics coexist harmoniously.
Each Valbruna creation is conceived as a unique piece or part of a small series, intended for enthusiasts and collectors seeking authenticity, quality, and character.
The name Valbruna evokes a legend of the Adriatic: that of a lost city, a sort of Italian Atlantis submerged beneath the sea. This poetic suggestion stems directly from his deep connection with the sea and reflects the project’s rare, quiet, and understated character. The grading system also draws from this marine imagery, using jellyfish as distinctive symbols to identify different quality levels.
