Radice Rind Pipe (2026) - Rusticated Liverpool with Generous Bowl

The 2026 Radice Rind, in its muscular interpretation of the Liverpool shape, is the quintessence of a pipe with "real substance." Made entirely by hand in Italy, this creation perfectly embodies the philosophy of the Radice workshop: offering enthusiasts a solid instrument with generous geometries, capable of delivering an impeccable smoking quality right from the very first light.

Historical Notes: The Tradition of Radice Pipemaking

The Radice brand is deeply rooted in the most prestigious tradition of Lombard briar. Founded in 1980 by Luigi Radice, following his pivotal experiences with historic brands such as Castello and Caminetto, the workshop in Cucciago has become synonymous with artisan excellence worldwide. Today, this family tradition continues through the work of his sons, Marzio and Gianluca, who preserve the meticulous care in briar selection and the technical creativity that makes every Radice pipe a unique, high-performance piece.

Aesthetics and Structure: A "Muscular" Liverpool

This model revisits the classic Liverpool design (characterized by a long cylindrical briar shank and a short stem) while infusing it with a bold personality:

  • Thick, Protective Walls: The bowl stands out for its generous briar thickness. These thick walls insulate the combustion chamber, keeping the exterior temperature consistently comfortable.

  • Deep Rustication: The body is entirely covered in a deep, sharply defined black rustication. This sculptural finish lends the pipe a strong character and a three-dimensional texture that feels exceptionally pleasant in the hand.

  • The Stem: In true Liverpool fashion, the line concludes with a short, tapered black acrylic stem that fits precisely onto the long shank.

Chamber Geometry and Smoking Performance

From a strictly technical standpoint, this overall medium-sized pipe conceals a remarkably capacious heart:

  • Abundant Capacity: Despite its well-balanced overall proportions, the bowl offers a substantial internal volume, making it ideal for those who enjoy long, meditative smoking sessions.

  • Conical Chamber Bore: The internal chamber bore is slightly conical. This architecture optimizes airflow dynamics and accommodates the natural downward progression of the ember, ensuring a smooth draw and an uninterrupted burn.

This is a concrete, robust, and reliable pipe. The combination of its timeless design, protective wall thickness, and generous bowl capacity makes it the perfect choice for full-bodied blends (such as English Mixtures or pure Virginias), offering a cool, dry, and distinctively "Radice" smoking experience.
