Caminetto Event 2026 Sandblasted: An Archival Reinterpretation in a Sitter Dublin Shape

The Caminetto Event 2026 Sandblasted is crafted in the workshop of the historic Italian pipe-making brand, widely known by its distinctive nickname, “La Pipa del Baffo” (“The Pipe with the Moustache”). This model belongs to the prestigious Event collection, a project launched in 2013 by Tommaso “Tommy” Ascorti, grandson of founder Giuseppe “Peppino” Ascorti. Its purpose is to draw inspiration from the manufactory’s historical archives, reinterpreting a different design or shape each year through contemporary proportions and detailing.

The Event 2026 Project: Design and Copper Details

The year engraved on the briar identifies the specific archival design selected for the 2026 edition. Copper is the defining element of the entire series, serving as a distinctive aesthetic signature.

• Decorative disc at the base: Set into the bottom of the bowl, it bears the Event 2026 engraving and provides an immediately recognizable visual detail.
• Copper ferrule: A discreet, elegant copper ring adorns the end of the shank, creating a clean transition to the stem junction.

Pipe Design: Sitter Dublin Shape and Bowl Geometry

The pipe features medium-sized proportions, balanced by a generous bowl that accommodates a capacious chamber with a cylindrical bore. This configuration is designed to provide smooth, consistent airflow and is well suited to blends that benefit from a substantial tobacco charge and a slow smoking pace.

• Finish and rim: The body features a deep sandblasted finish that highlights the briar’s natural grain and texture. In contrast, the upper rim of the bowl has been left flat and smooth, creating an appealing contrast between the two finishes.
• Sitter design: The flattened base allows the pipe to stand upright on its own when placed on a level surface, without requiring a separate pipe stand.

Stem and Iconic Signature

The stem is made of black acrylic, featuring a tapered profile that ends in a slightly flared fishtail button. This design provides a comfortable contact point and helps distribute the smoke across the tongue.

The back of the stem bears the celebrated stylized moustache emblem, the historic and unmistakable signature of the Caminetto brand.
