The project originated from an idea by Tommaso “Tommy” Ascorti, grandson of Giuseppe “Peppino” Ascorti (one of the founding fathers of the brand). By consulting the workshop notebooks and historical models designed by his grandfather, Tommaso selects an archival shape each year and reinterprets it in a modern key, updating its proportions and physical details without altering its original identity.

This is not a philological reproduction, but rather a dialogue between different eras. The Event line is distinguished by several fundamental features:

Copper as a Visual Signature: The use of a copper ring or ferrule represents the stylistic hallmark of the series. The metal creates a warm contrast with the briar and serves as a link between past and present.

Value of the Year: The engraved year (2013, 2016, through to the most recent editions) does not merely indicate the date of manufacture, but identifies the archival design selected for that specific collection.

Independence from the Finish: The Event designation defines the stylistic series and not the grade of the briar. Each annual edition is offered in different finishes (from rusticated to natural smooth), making smooth examples with particularly pronounced flame grain highly significant collector’s pieces.
