Mimmo Romeo Handcrafted Pipe – Smooth Freehand with Warthog Tusk Ferrule

In the international slow-smoking scene, Mimmo Romeo represents a benchmark for the processing and selection of Italian briar. From his workshop in Liguria, Romeo combines the mastery of the pipemaker with the historic expertise of the briar cutter (segantino): a generational know-how that allows him to interpret the grain of the block right from the cut, shaping freehand forms that highlight the natural architecture of the raw material.

This creation is a medium-sized smooth freehand, characterized by a remarkable lightness and a highly elegant curved line. The bowl, crafted from exceptional quality briar, houses a low-capacity chamber featuring an easy load rim, a rim shape designed to facilitate tobacco loading.

The layout is enriched by a warthog tusk ferrule on the shank, serving as an aesthetic and chromatic transition to the stem. The latter, turned entirely by hand from a Cumberland rod and finished with a fishtail bit, ensures a comfortable grip and a high-profile stylistic result.
