For over a century and a half, the historic Dutch manufacturer Big Ben has been synonymous with smoking instruments that combine construction reliability, briar quality, and daily functionality. Technical Specifications and Construction Details
Architecture and Cooling Fins: The pipe develops on an essential, clean straight shape. The distinctive element of the bowl is the presence of deep radial cooling fins. In addition to conferring a strong visual impact and a modern geometric look, these grooves increase the thermal exchange surface area of the briar, contributing decisively to optimal heat dissipation during the smoke.
Finish and Metal Inserts: The design is completed by metal inserts that serve as both structural reinforcement and a stylistic accent: the pipe is in fact equipped with a refined metal band at the shank connection and a practical metal flame guard that covers the rim (upper edge) of the bowl, protecting the briar from lighting.
Internal Engineering and Bowl: The bowl has a medium capacity, ideal for ordinary smoking sessions. The internal drilling is slightly conical. The shank is internally designed to accommodate 9 mm filters, ensuring a cool, dry smoke free of impurities.
