Nicola Pirocco Dublin Army Handmade Pipe – Handmade in Italy

This Italian handmade pipe by Nicola Pirocco represents a refined expression of the new Italian school. Handcrafted in Casalbordino, Abruzzo, it stems from the experience and talent of an artisan who has distinguished himself as a promising student of the Accademia della Pipa (The Pipe Academy). This educational project was founded by master carvers Mimmo Romeo, Davide Iafisco, Gabriele Dal Fiume, and Gioacchino Sauro with the mission of preserving and passing down the culture of Italian artisanal pipe-making, while promoting standards of excellence and high-grade craftsmanship.

The model offers a personal interpretation of the classic straight Dublin shape. While maintaining the elegance and the progressive flare typical of the traditional silhouette, the bowl features intentionally narrower flanks that give the overall piece a distinct perception of ovality, granting the pipe a unique personality and a slender line.

Its medium proportions make it versatile and well-balanced for daily use. The chamber, of a medium-to-small capacity, features cylindrical drilling that promotes a regular and controlled smoke. The briar work highlights an element highly prized by connoisseurs: a splendid, compact, and uniform birds-eye grain that develops across the flanks of the bowl, showcasing the quality of the selected block and the accuracy in grain orientation.

The stem is made of black ebonite, hand-cut from a solid rod—a solution that speaks to the artisan approach adopted in every phase of production. The Army mount is embellished by an elegant Elforyn ferrule, a modern and refined material that creates a pleasing color contrast with the dark tone of the stem and the beauty of the briar.

Designed for the collector and the enthusiast seeking an authentic Italian handmade pipe, this Dublin by Nicola Pirocco combines aesthetics, functionality, and meticulous attention
