The Connection to the Land of Lejre

Jeppesen's creations are born in Lejre, a small but historically rich town located on the island of Zealand, about 40 kilometers from Copenhagen. Lejre is no ordinary place: it is considered the mythological and historical cradle of Denmark's oldest royal dynasty, the Scyldings (Skjöldungar). Scholars associate this land with the atmosphere of the epic poem Beowulf, identifying it as the core inspiration for the legendary hall of Heorot. This cultural heritage of solidity, history, and storytelling is reflected in the expressive power and striking presence of the pipes crafted in this region.

Structural Features and Design

The model features a Freehand shape with a semicurved (half bent) profile.

• Finish and Color: The smooth surface is enhanced by a deep contrast staining, expertly applied to bring out the maximum three-dimensional quality of the briar's grain.

• The Rim (Top Border): The rim of the bowl features a bark top (the natural plateau/bark of the briar block left visible), a detail that imparts a rustic and organic look.

• The Band: The shank is adorned with a double band that blends the modernity of acrylic with the classic elegance of tooled silver.
