Dirk Heinemann Handmade Pipe – Sandblasted Squashed Tomato, Quarter Bent

This handcrafted pipe is made in Germany by Dirk Heinemann, a contemporary artisan known for his clean, functional and highly refined pipe designs. Before becoming a full-time pipemaker, Heinemann worked as a carpenter and furniture designer and studied product design. This background strongly influences his work, combining architectural precision, ergonomic balance and modern aesthetics in every piece.

About the maker

Dirk Heinemann began making pipes around 2010, gradually transforming his passion for woodworking and design into a professional craft. He is widely recognized for his contemporary approach, where form and function are carefully balanced, resulting in pipes with excellent engineering and elegant proportions.

Pipe description

This pipe is a freehand interpretation of a squashed Tomato shape, featuring a distinctive compressed design that enhances both comfort and visual character. The overall form is a quarter bent pipe, offering a comfortable smoking angle and excellent ergonomics in hand.

The bowl is of medium size, well proportioned and designed for a balanced smoking experience. It features a slightly conical drilling, which ensures a regular airflow and an even, controlled tobacco combustion.

Finish and materials

The pipe is finished in a black sandblasted surface, highlighting the natural grain of the briar while giving the pipe a deep, textured appearance. This finish enhances both aesthetics and grip.

The stem is made of high-quality ebonite, providing excellent comfort in the mouth and a traditional, pleasant smoking feel.
