Peder Jeppesen Ida Gr. 4 Pipe – Semi-Rusticated Bent

In the landscape of Danish artisan pipes, Peder Jeppesen is renowned for creations with a well-defined identity, seamlessly combining Scandinavian design rigor with a personal, sculptural vision of briar. This featured piece belongs to the Ida Gr. 4 classification.

Peder Jeppesen and the Connection to Lejre
Jeppesen’s workshops are located in Lejre, a site steeped in ancient history on the island of Zealand, just a short distance from Copenhagen. Legendary seat of the earliest Danish monarchs—the Scylding dynasty (Skjöldungar)—Lejre is also historically linked to the magnificent mead-hall of Heorot from the epic poem Beowulf. This rich cultural heritage directly informs the artisan’s approach, resulting in smoking instruments characterized by bold lines, generous volumes, and a strong visual presence.

This medium-large bent model showcases a semi-rusticated finish, where the interplay between smooth panels and finely carved textures enhances the bowl's architecture. The substantial wall thickness guarantees optimal thermal protection while smoking. Inside, the spacious chamber features precision cylindrical drilling designed to ensure a steady and even burn.

The shank is crowned with a vibrant multicolored acrylic ferrule that provides a striking chromatic transition to the short black acrylic stem, which concludes with a comfortable fishtail bit.
