Daniele Carbini and the Philosophy of the Alinetu Brand

Alinetu pipes are born from the union of deep philosophical thought and a visceral connection to the land of Sardinia. Their creator, Daniele Carbini — craftsman, philosophy graduate, writer, and guardian of Gallura's agricultural traditions — works in Bortigiadas, near Tempio Pausania. There, in the locality of Alinetu from which the brand takes its name, he also devotes himself to the cultivation and stone milling of ancient Sardinian grains.

An early member of the Pipe Academy, Carbini conceives woodworking as a maieutic process: a search aimed at extracting from the block of briar the shape naturally held within it. His creations express a rigorous, uncompromising aesthetic, designed for those who view smoking as a ritual of calm and deep reflection.

Model Description

This model is distinguished by a overall medium-sized architecture, characterized by petite proportions and a balanced profile. The natural smooth finish enhances the grain of the briar without altering its original color.

The bowl houses a small-capacity chamber with cylindrical drilling, ideal for fine blends or smaller loads.

The line of the shank connects to a handcrafted cumberland stem with a fishtail lip, shaped to ensure a stable and comfortable grip between the teeth. Embellishing the joint is a prominent handcrafted insert made of horn and epoxy resin.
