French Chacom Bayard Pipe – Matte Canadian
The Chacom Tradition and the Heritage of Saint-Claude
The Chapuis-Comoy & Cie manufacture represents one of the most prestigious names in international briar carving. Located in Saint-Claude, in the French Jura region — historically recognized as the pipe capital of the world —, the company is led today by Antoine Grenard, the sixth generation of the founding family.
As the last remaining active pipe factory on French soil, Chacom preserves two centuries of artisanal know-how, integrating tradition with a continuous search for innovation and modern design. Recognized by the French government with the prestigious state distinction Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), the house of Saint-Claude exports the precision and quality of French savoir-faire to over 35 countries.
Description of the Chacom Bayard Pipe
The Bayard series embodies the classic elegance and practical usability characteristic of Chacom's production. This specific model develops on the traditional and elegant Canadian profile, characterized by a straight, slender line with a long oval-section shank and a short stem. This particular architecture provides an elongated smoke path that promotes a natural cooling of the vapor before it reaches the palate.
The briar is enhanced by a matte finish of a warm, deep color, designed to let the natural grain of the wood show through while providing a pleasant, silky grip to the touch. The bowl accommodates a generous chamber capacity, featuring a cylindrically drilled combustion chamber designed to ensure a smooth draw, even ventilation, and consistent combustion throughout the entire tobacco load. Completing the architecture is a straight black acrylic mouthpiece crafted for high density, shaped to provide a balanced and long-lasting bite.
