Francesco Ganci Pipe – Smooth Canted Nosewarmer with Bark Top

This creation bears the signature of Francesco Ganci and is entirely handmade in his workshop in Liguria.

Raw Material: Romeo Briar

The pipe is shaped starting from a briar block of excellence, selected and seasoned by Mimmo Romeo at the historic Romeo Sawmills. The quality of the block emerges in the regular straight grain, whose vertical veins neatly embrace the entire circumference of the pipe's bowl.

Geometry, Proportions, and Finish

The model is configured as a short pipe, of the nosewarmer type. The silhouette is structured around an intentional and expressive geometric disproportion:

• The bowl, of medium dimensions, is tilted forward (canted), recalling the style of classic Dublin or Zulu shapes.

• The shank is extremely short and tapers finely toward the junction.

The body features a smooth finish that highlights the dense pattern of the wood, while on the upper edge of the bowl (rim), the artisan has chosen to preserve the natural bark top, keeping the raw crust of the block crowning the combustion chamber.

Specifications of Bowl, Stem, and Band

• Bowl: The combustion chamber is of medium capacity, a versatile size suitable for standard smoking sessions. The internal drilling is executed with a conical geometry.

• Band: A refined natural horn band is mounted on the base of the stem and, once inserted, joins in perfect structural and chromatic continuity with the end of the shank.

• Stem: Made of high-quality black ebonite, entirely hand-cut from a solid rod.
