Ser Jacopo Mangiafuoco L D – Stand-Up Full Bent with Removable Wind Cap
The Ser Jacopo Mangiafuoco is one of the most charismatic and distinctive creations to emerge from the Pesaro workshop. Characterized by its majestic verticality and an extraordinary presence, this version, classified as L D (high-quality smooth finish), is presented in a refined dark staining, lending the model a sober yet monumental appearance.
The Iconic Mangiafuoco Shape by Ser Jacopo
The Mangiafuoco (Fire Eater) shape, born from the creative genius of Giancarlo Guidi, has become a symbol of bold design over the years. The structure develops upward, evoking the theatrical figure of the street performer from which it takes its name. Its most notable feature is the flat base, making it a Stand-Up pipe: a piece capable of standing on its own, transforming into a small desk sculpture when not in use.
Functionality and Design: The Removable Cap
This specific specimen is enhanced by an integrated removable cap (lid). This detail, beyond adding a whimsical and eccentric touch to the overall design, serves a fundamental technical purpose:
Outdoor Smoking: The lid protects the embers, allowing you to enjoy your tobacco outdoors even on windy days, preventing the burn from accelerating excessively.
Versatility: The cap can be easily removed for indoor sessions, offering two distinct aesthetics in a single instrument.
Architecture and Geometry
Despite its imposing stature, the Ser Jacopo Mangiafuoco is engineered for high-level smoking performance:
Full Bent Stand-Up: The pronounced curvature allows for excellent balance between the lips, directing the weight downward for a comfortable clench.
Spacious Chamber: The head houses a generously sized bowl with precision cylindrical boring, ideal for an even burn and prolonged smoking sessions.
Saddle Stem: Crafted from black acrylic, the mouthpiece features a saddle design that thins the profile as it connects to the shank, finishing with a fish tail bit for optimal palatal comfort.
