Il Ceppo pipes

The Il Ceppo brand represents one of the most interesting names in Italian artisan pipe making, closely connected to the renowned Pesaro school (Marche region), a worldwide reference point in briar craftsmanship.

History and origins of Il Ceppo

The first Il Ceppo pipes date back to the early 1970s, but the brand truly took shape in 1978 thanks to architect Giorgio Imperatori, a passionate pipemaker who launched production and helped bring the brand to international recognition.

Throughout the 1980s, Il Ceppo gradually gained appreciation among enthusiasts for its high-quality craftsmanship and distinctive style, while maintaining a niche, artisanal production.

In 1995, the brand was acquired by Franco Rossi, who continues to develop it together with his family. Drawing on his experience with prestigious brands such as Don Carlos and Ser Jacopo, Rossi helped further strengthen Il Ceppo’s stylistic identity and production quality.

Today, Il Ceppo is synonymous with high-quality Italian handmade pipes, appreciated for the perfect balance between tradition, aesthetic research, and excellent smoking performance.
